One of the most common and challenging symptoms of Parkinson’s disease is a disrupted sleep–wake rhythm. Difficulty falling asleep at night, frequent awakenings, struggling to get out of bed in the morning, and severe daytime fatigue, it’s a vicious cycle that can make daily life exhausting.
PROPEAQ light therapy offers an effective, science-based way to restore this natural rhythm. In multiple clinical studies with people living with Parkinson’s, using the PROPEAQ light therapy glasses, researchers found remarkably positive results.
Participants regained a more balanced circadian rhythm, experienced better sleep quality, and reported more energy and alertness during the day. In some cases, even tremor symptoms were reduced.
Light therapy for Parkinson’s is a proven, non-invasive approach that helps the body find its natural balance again — supporting better rest at night and improved wellbeing throughout the day.
Light therapy has proven to be not a hype, but a source of hope for everyone affected by Parkinson’s.

Running again, thanks to PROPEAQ light therapy
One inspiring real-life story comes from Jan Wielinga. After being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, Jan could no longer pursue his greatest passion: running. The fatigue and loss of rhythm that often come with Parkinson’s made it impossible for him to continue the sport he loved most.
Thanks to the PROPEAQ light therapy glasses, Jan gradually regained his energy, strength, and balance. By supporting his natural sleep–wake rhythm, light therapy helped him feel more alert and energised throughout the day.
In September 2025, after several years, Jan proudly completed his first running race again, a powerful example of how light therapy for Parkinson’s can truly make a difference in restoring both physical and mental wellbeing.
Watch the video below to hear Jan’s story of recovery and renewed energy.

Using the PROPEAQ light therapy glasses for Parkinson’s
With the right structure, light therapy can help restore your natural sleep–wake rhythm.
Follow the schedule below for at least 14 days:
1. Set your desired routine: Choose consistent times for going to bed and waking up.
2. Morning: Set your alarm, get up, and use two blue light sessions in a row (a total of 60 minutes).
3. During the day: Stay awake. You may take a short power nap in the early afternoon, no longer than 20 minutes. Avoid sleeping longer.
4. Late afternoon: Use two more blue light sessions in a row (again, a total of 60 minutes).
5. Evening: Go to bed at the time you set earlier.
Once your rhythm is restored, you can switch to a maintenance schedule: one 30-minute blue light session in the morning and one 30-minute session in the late afternoon.
