General user questions
Below are some general questions you may have as a light glasses user
How long do I have to wear the glasses?
That depends on the purpose. Are you using the blue energy light? Then 30 minutes a day is usually sufficient. The blue light automatically switches off after 30 minutes. Are you using the orange lenses? Then wear the glasses half an hour to an hour before going to sleep. When using the orange lenses, the light should always be switched off.
Do I need an app to use the glasses?
No, you don't need to. We have developed a handy Propeaq app that you can use to combat jet lag, support irregular shifts or improve your sleep. The app provides personalised advice, but the glasses themselves do not communicate with the apps and your data remains on your phone.
Is the light safe for my eyes?
Yes, the blue light is weak and falls within a safe bandwidth. Also suitable for people with laser-treated eyes, artificial lenses or contact lenses. Do you have a retinal disorder (retinopathy)? If so, we recommend that you discuss this with your doctor first.
Can I drive with my glasses on?
We advise against participating in traffic in the dark when the blue light is on. It is also better not to drive with the orange lenses, as red traffic lights will appear dark grey. In addition, the orange lenses make you sleepy in the evening, which reduces your safety when participating in traffic.
How do I turn the glasses on or off?
Briefly press the power button on the right inner side of the glasses. Pressing it again will turn the light off.
How long does the battery last?
A full battery provides 2-3 hours of active light. With average use (30 minutes per day) you can use the glasses for 4-5 days. By briefly pressing the on/off button you can see the battery status via three LEDs.
Are the glasses available in different sizes?
The glasses come in one universal size that fits most people. The legs are slightly adjustable by an optician. For children or very wide heads, the glasses are less suitable.
How do I put the lenses in the glasses?
To insert a new lens, place the nose side of the lens on the inside of the nose bridge and press the lens into the frame until you hear a click. This may require some force the first few times.
To remove the lenses, push the side of the lens from the outside inwards. Place your thumb on the outside of the lens and press the lens out of the frame.
Has any scientific research been done?
Yes, there has been a lot of research into blue light. Propeaq light glasses are even used as a reference in scientific studies. Links to the studies can be found on the Propeaq website. In 2017, Hall, Rosbash and Young even received the Nobel Prize for their research into the biological clock.
